Versen es un lugar en el municipio alemán de Meppen, en el estado federado de Baja Sajonia. El lugar se encuentra a orillas del Ems (alemán: Ems). La antigua ruta comercial en la orilla oeste del Ems, la Calle Frisona, pasa por Versen. En 854, el lugar aparece por primera vez como fersne en un documento. Versen se hizo conocido por el hallazgo en 1900 del cadáver de turba conocido como Roter Franz. Este cadáver ha sido considerado durante mucho tiempo como el mejor conservado. Se estima que data de 252 a 388 d.C.
Durante el nacionalsocialismo, desde el verano de 1938, muy cerca de Versen se encontraba el campo de prisioneros Meppen-Versen, uno de los 15 Emslandlager. En el lugar del antiguo campo ahora hay una prisión.
