En las praderas de Oste se trata de una llanura de 121 hectáreas al oeste de Kranenburg y Brobergen en el distrito de Stade. La designación oficial es área protegida de praderas y pastizales en la Oste y lleva la referencia NSG LÜ 271.
La superficie de pastizales situada a la derecha de la Oste fue protegida en 1985.
