La central térmica de Minden es una planta de energía que utiliza combustibles alternativos en la ciudad de Minden, situada en la región de Ostwestfalen
y está diseñada como una planta de calefacción. Su ubicación es en la Karlstraße, en el puerto industrial de Minden. Cada año se pueden quemar combustibles alternativos de hasta 40,000 toneladas.
La central térmica fue planificada y construida bajo la responsabilidad de interargem GmbH por Energon GmbH y se puso en funcionamiento en 2002. Energon se basó en una investigación de siete años en Noruega, que condujo a una nueva tecnología de combustión con una quema optimizada y bajas emisiones, claramente por debajo de los límites establecidos en la regulación sobre instalaciones de combustión para residuos y materiales combustibles similares. En 2007, fue adquirida por AML Immobilien GmbH, que pertenece al distrito de Minden-Lübbecke. El antiguo propietario, Energos Minden GmbH, es una subsidiaria del grupo E.ON. AML Immobilien GmbH se convirtió en KAVG Kreisabfallverwertungsgesellschaft Minden-Lübbecke. Esta última se formó en su estructura organizativa actual en enero de 2017 e incluye todas las áreas de gestión operativa de residuos, incluyendo la central térmica de Minden.
