El Herrenholz es un bosque estatal de aproximadamente 700 hectáreas ubicado en los municipios de Goldenstedt y Visbek en el distrito de Vechta, Baja Sajonia. Aproximadamente 287 hectáreas de este bosque están designadas como reserva natural.
El Herrenholz se encuentra al noreste de Vechta, en el sur del parque natural Wildeshauser Geest, en un antiguo lugar de bosque histórico. La zona boscosa se puede rastrear hasta al menos el año 819. En ese tiempo, fue mencionada como "Madera principesca en Hollwedehusen" en una carta de protección del emperador alemán Luis el Piadoso. Más tarde, el bosque fue utilizado por príncipes y nobles para la caza y la extracción de madera. Así fue como obtuvo el nombre de "Herrenholz".
