El Rotbach es un afluente de 39,1 km de longitud, situado al suroeste y en la orografía izquierda de la Erft, en los distritos de Euskirchen y Rhein-Erft en Renania del Norte-Westfalia.
El Rotbach nace como Nöthener Siefen en la Eifel y fluye a través del Rin. Su fuente se encuentra en el borde sureste de Kermeters, una parte norte de la Eifel, entre Kall-Wallenthal al sureste y Mechernich-Voißel al norte, dos localidades que el arroyo no atraviesa. Debajo o al noreste de Voißel, el agua lleva el nombre de Schliebach hasta Mechernich-Glehn, y desde Glehn hasta Mechernich-Eicks se le llama Mühlenbach o Bruchbach.
