Le Rotbach est un affluent sud-ouest et orographique gauche de l’Erft de 39,1 km de long dans les districts d’Euskirchen et de Rhein-Erft en Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie.
Le Rotbach prend sa source sous le nom de Nöthener Siefen dans l’Eifel et traverse la Rhénanie. Sa source est située sur le bord sud-est du Kermeter, une partie nord de l’Eifel, entre Kall-Wallenthal au sud-est et Mechernich-Voißel au nord, deux villages à travers lesquels le ruisseau ne coule pas. En dessous ou au nord-est de Voißel, l’eau qui coule vers Mechernich-Glehn porte également le nom de Schliebach et de Glehn à Mechernich-Eicks, elle s’appelle Mühlenbach ou Bruchbach.
