La estación de tren Nottuln-Appelhülsen se encuentra en Appelhülsen, un distrito del municipio de Nottuln en el distrito de Coesfeld, Renania del Norte-Westfalia.
La compañía de ferrocarriles Köln-Mindener recibió el 28 de mayo de 1866 la concesión para la construcción de una línea ferroviaria de Wanne a Osnabrück. Esta era parte del ferrocarril interregional Hamburgo-Venlo, que a su vez debía convertirse en parte de un ferrocarril internacional París-Hamburgo. El 1 de enero de 1870, la CME inició el tráfico de pasajeros en el primer tramo entre la estación de tren Wanne en su línea principal y la estación de tren Münster (Hauptbahnhof), al mismo tiempo que se construyó la estación de Appelhülsen.
