El Castillo Laach es una majestuosa villa en Monheim am Rhein en el distrito de Mettmann y se encuentra en el terreno de Laacher Hof, cuya gestión está documentada desde el siglo XIII.
Laacher Hof fue adquirido en 1886 por el hijo ilegítimo del rey belga Leopoldo I, Arthur von Eppinghoven, quien a su vez lo vendió en 1909 al alcalde y pastor de Dinslaken. De este, la finca pasó en 1910 a Clemens August Engels, quien en 1911 mandó construir el Castillo Laach. Desde 1932 hasta 1938, el castillo fue propiedad del vicecanciller Franz von Papen.
