Proßmarke es una localidad del municipio de Hohenbucko en el distrito de Elbe-Elster, en el sur de Brandeburgo. Se encuentra aproximadamente a 11 kilómetros al noreste de la ciudad de Schlieben, a lo largo de la carretera estatal 70.
El pueblo de Proßmarke, donde hallazgos de la Edad del Bronce indican un asentamiento mucho más antiguo, fue mencionado por primera vez en documentos en el año 1376 como "Provismarke". Probablemente recibió su nombre debido a su proximidad a la diócesis de Schlieben. Se conocen graves destrucciones en el lugar de los años 1762, 1765 y 1809.
