Mukrena es una aldea de Könnern en Sachsen-Anhalt. El pueblo se encuentra a la derecha del Saale, frente a la ciudad de Alsleben.
Mukrena se sitúa en el predo de Harz y por lo tanto en la sombra de lluvia del Harz y sufre de escasez de agua. Con menos de 500 mm de precipitaciones anuales, esta área registra las precipitaciones más bajas en Sachsen-Anhalt.
El Saale aquí está solo levemente sumergido. El nivel inferior de la esclusa del Saale en la localidad es de 60,01 m NN, y el Radeberg tiene una altitud de 102,9 m sobre NHN.
El nombre Mukrena proviene del sorabo, mok = húmedo, que en alemán se traduce aproximadamente como prado húmedo o bosque húmedo.
