En 1964, el Eifelpark fue inaugurado bajo la denominación "Hochwildpark Eifel" como el primer parque de animales salvajes de la República Federal de Alemania. Con la introducción de los osos pardos, Berlín asumió en 1969 el patrocinio de la Garganta del Oso. En 1975, el entonces primer ministro de Renania-Palatinado, Helmut Kohl, inauguró el nuevo parque de montaña en el Eifelpark. En los años siguientes, se añadieron más atracciones. Desde 2004, el Eifelpark, que hasta entonces había sido gestionado junto con el Kurpfalz-Park y el Panorama-Park, es administrado desde Haan.
