Benniehausen es una localidad del municipio de Gleichen en el distrito de Göttingen con 349 habitantes. A Benniehausen pertenece la localidad de Wittmarshof.
La primera mención escrita que se conserva de Benniehausen se encuentra en un documento del monasterio de Bursfelde del año 1201. El nombre del lugar se indica allí como “Bennighusen”. En un documento, publicado en el libro de documentos de Maguncia, que data del año 1123 y menciona el lugar como “Benningehusen”, se trata de una falsificación del siglo XIII. La existencia anterior de un documento original del siglo XII con mención del lugar no está comprobada por la falsificación, pero tampoco se puede descartar, ya que los documentos originales a veces se usaban como base para falsificaciones alteradas.
