Con la supuesta declaración de Martín Lutero, que se sabe que estuvo en Nohra en 1521, "¡La Gramme nace en Nohra bajo el coro!", la certeza sobre ello se ha grabado en el pueblo de Nohra, lo que ha llevado a que la Gramme sea también el nombre de las tierras agrícolas "Delante de la Gramme" y "Detrás de la Gramme". El arroyo que conecta los tres estanques del pueblo y fluye de sur a norte a través de Nohra también se denomina Gramme en los mapas catastrales.
Al norte de la autopista A4 hay varias áreas de manantiales y pequeños cursos de agua: el Weimarbach proviene de Ulla y desemboca en Hopfgarten "En la Gramme"; el Herbach de Isseroda desemboca al sur proveniente de la izquierda en la Gramme; cerca del molino de viento de Bechstedtstraß nace el Utzbach o también el arroyo Utzberger, que se une a la Gramme en la parte noroeste de Hopfgarten, parcialmente subterráneo en Utzberg. Desde allí, la Gramme fluye en dirección a Niederzimmern.
