Schierke es un distrito de la ciudad de Wernigerode en el distrito de Harz en Sajonia-Anhalt y la última localidad por debajo de la cima del Brocken. Desde 2002, es un lugar de descanso reconocido por el estado.
Schierke se encuentra en el Harz. Limita aproximadamente al norte con el Parque Nacional Harz y se encuentra en el Parque Natural Harz/Sajonia-Anhalt al sureste del Brocken, al suroeste del Hohnekamm, al norte del Barenberg y al este-noreste del grupo montañoso de Wurmberg, Großer Winterberg y Kleiner Winterberg. Está situado a unos 600 a 650 metros sobre el nivel del mar en el valle del Kalten Bode, que al sur de la localidad se llama Elendstal y está designado como área de conservación de la naturaleza. La aldea vecina al sur-sureste es Elend.
