La estación meteorológica de Aquisgrán es una de las doce estaciones de referencia climática del Servicio Meteorológico Alemán y tiene desde 2011 su sede en Aquisgrán-Orsbach, Schiefdell 11. Sus orígenes se remontan al siglo XIX y de ella surgió en 1895 el Observatorio Meteorológico de Aquisgrán, que cinco años más tarde fue establecido en el Wingertsberg en el Jardín de la Ciudad de Aquisgrán y que fue trasladado a Hamburgo en 1977. Tras el traslado del observatorio, la operación en Aquisgrán se continuó como una estación meteorológica normal y punto de medición de radiactividad y en 2011 fue elevada a la categoría de estación de referencia climática.
