El área se extiende al suroeste del núcleo urbano de Paderborn y al este de Wewer, un barrio suroeste de Paderborn. En el borde este del área pasa la A 33, al oeste la carretera estatal L 756 y al este la L 755. El Lohne fluye a través del área. Al oeste y en la parte noroeste del área fluye el Alme, un afluente izquierdo del Lippe. Al sur se encuentra directamente el área de protección natural de Ziegenberg, que abarca aproximadamente 2,8 ha, en el territorio del municipio de Borchen en el distrito de Paderborn. Ambas áreas de protección natural son aproximadamente coincidentes con el área FFH de Ziegenberg.
