La zone s'étend au sud-ouest de la ville principale de Paderborn et à l'est de Wewer, un quartier sud-ouest de Paderborn. Le bord est de la zone est bordé par l'A 33, à l'ouest par la route départementale L 756 et à l'est par la L 755. La Lohne traverse la zone. À l'ouest et dans la zone nord-ouest, l'Alme, un affluent gauche de la Lippe, s'écoule à travers la zone. Au sud se trouve directement la réserve naturelle Ziegenberg d'environ 2,8 hectares sur le territoire de la commune de Borchen dans le district de Paderborn. Les deux réserves naturelles sont à peu près superposées à la zone Natura 2000 de Ziegenberg.
