The area extends southwest of the city center of Paderborn and east of Wewer, a southwestern district of Paderborn. At the eastern edge of the area runs the A 33, west of it the state road L 756, and east of it the L 755. The Lohne flows through the area. To the west and in the northwestern part, the Alme, a left tributary of the Lippe, flows through the area. Directly to the south is the approximately 2.8 ha large nature reserve Ziegenberg located in the municipality of Borchen in the Paderborn district. Together, both nature reserves are approximately congruent with the FFH area Ziegenberg.
