El Aggerverband es una corporación de derecho público y uno de los once asociaciones de gestión del agua de derecho especial en Renania del Norte-Westfalia. Es responsable de la gestión del agua en la cuenca del Agger y tiene su sede en Gummersbach.
El Aggerverband es responsable del tratamiento de aguas residuales en la cuenca del Agger y opera a tal fin 31 plantas de tratamiento. Además, es responsable de la protección contra inundaciones y del aumento de caudal mínimo. La instalación central correspondiente es la presa de Aggertal, que también sirve para el suministro de agua de uso público y ofrece muchas posibilidades para el ocio. Además, el Aggerverband opera con la presa de Genkeltal y la presa de Wiehltal dos presas de agua potable con plantas de tratamiento en Auchel y Erlenhagen. Aquí se lleva a cabo el tratamiento de agua potable de 25 millones de metros cúbicos por año para aproximadamente 500,000 habitantes a través de 20 empresas de suministro.
