La estación Wengern West es un antiguo punto de parada en el valle del Ruhr, en el distrito de Wengern de Wetter. El ferrocarril Elbschetal, que va desde la estación de Witten hasta la estación de Schwelm a lo largo del Ruhr y el Elbsche, se completó entre 1910 y 1934. La puesta en servicio del punto de parada se llevó a cabo el 15 de mayo de 1934. El 30 de noviembre de 1979 se suspendió el tráfico de pasajeros en la línea. Después de que el tráfico de mercancías también se detuvo en 1980, la línea fue cerrada en este tramo en 1983 y posteriormente desmantelada.
