En la comunidad administrativa de Östlicher Saalkreis del distrito de Saalekreis en Sajonia-Anhalt, originalmente se unieron ocho municipios para realizar sus negocios administrativos. Al final, allí vivían 16,343 habitantes en 125,36 km². El último director de la comunidad administrativa fue Olaf Heinrich.
Aunque el nombre del distrito cambió de Saalkreis a Saalekreis con la reforma del distrito, se mantuvo el nombre Östlicher Saalkreis y no se cambió a Östlicher Saalekreis, ya que la designación de ubicación se refería al antiguo territorio del distrito.
