El Kopernikus-Gymnasium Walsum es un gimnasio en el distrito más al norte de Walsum de la ciudad de Duisburgo.
El consejo de la ciudad autónoma de Walsum decidió el 1 de octubre de 1962 establecer un gimnasio en Walsum a partir del 1 de abril de 1963. El "Gimnasio municipal de matemáticas, ciencias naturales y lenguas modernas para chicos y chicas" recibió a sus primeros 42 alumnos en la escuela primaria Barbara en Wehofen. Su primer director fue Paul Melzer. Esta fundación escolar trajo una novedad. Con ella se creó uno de los primeros gimnasios coeducativos en Renania del Norte-Westfalia. En el segundo año, la escuela Barbara ya tenía muy poco espacio. Se mudaron a la escuela Graf von Stauffenberg en la Goerdelerstraße. La primera excursión del profesorado se pudo realizar con un solo coche.
