Este parque fue cimentado en honor a patricio Francisco del Rosario Sánchez, quien fue apresado en el Cercado y ajusticiado en San Juan de La Maguana. Tiene una plazoleta en el centro y una estatua del patricio sobre un pedestal y una bandera que le rodea en espiral.
