El Museo Frederic Marès es un singular museo de coleccionista que se encuentra en el centro de la ciudad de Barcelona , en la plaza de Sant Iu número 5, en una estancia del Palacio Real Mayor. Alberga la colección donada a la ciudad por el escultor Frederic Marès Deulovol .
La idea del museo nació en 1944 cuando Marès realizó una exposición de gran parte de su colección. La muestra incluía diversos objetos como algunos incunables o muestras de esculturas medievales. Marès prometió entonces donar su colección a la ciudad. En 1946 se inauguró la primera sede del museo, instalada en un primer piso de un edificio de la calle Comtes de Barcelona.
