Pineda de la Sierra es un municipio y localidad española de la provincia de Burgos, en la comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León, comarca de La Demanda y Pinares, partido judicial de Burgos.Está situado en plena Sierra de la Demanda, concretamente en la sierra del Mencilla, donde se encuentra la antigua estación de esquí Valle del Sol, a los pies del pico Mencilla . Elevado a 1205 metros de altitud sobre el nivel del mar, el municipio está situado a 50 km de la capital burgalesa, a la cual se accede a través de la carretera autonómica BU-820. El municipio es atravesado por el río Arlanzón, que nace a pocos kilómetros del término municipal.
