Burriana [1] es un municipio de la Comunidad Valenciana . Situado en el sureste de la provincia de Castellón, en la comarca de la Plana Baja. Cuenta con 35052 habitantes .
Burriana fue fundada por los árabes en el s. IX con el nombre de Medina Alhadra. Dado su gran número de torres , toma el nombre del término árabe Burj, que significa precisamente torre y del río Anna que flanquea toda la ciudad. 'Burj'+'Anna' -> Burriana.
