Castillo de la Triste Condesa

Description

Fue construido entre 1393 y 1423 por el condestable Don Ruiz López Dávalos. El segundo conde de Benavente dio la fortaleza en dote a su hija doña Juana Pimentel, que se caso con Don Álvaro de Luna en 1432. Este murió ajusticiado por el rey Juan II en 1453, y desde ese momento el castillo comenzó a conocerse por Castillo de la Triste condesa. Es un precioso castillo de estilo gótico con planta cuadrada rematado por un parapeto almenado. Posee cubos circulares en las esquinas y tres cubos macizos rectangulares en los lienzos.
