El Instituto Secundario Jaume Vicens Vives es un instituto de educación secundaria del estado catalán ubicado en la ciudad de Girona. Tiene alrededor de 900 alumnos de edades de 12 a 18 años que estudian los programas de educación secundaria española. Es el único instituto de educación secundaria en Cataluña que ofrece el Bachillerato Internacional.
El Gobierno español fundó el instituto en 1845, como parte de un gran plan para mejorar los estudios secundarios. Para ello, se fundó un centro en cada capital de provincia. Así, el 17 de septiembre se estableció un nuevo instituto secundario en Girona, en el antiguo monasterio de los Frailes Menores Capuchinos. Con pocos recursos, proporcionados por el gobierno provincial, la escuela compró importantes colecciones en París de historia natural, botánica, química y física, así como creó una importante biblioteca para los alumnos y, al mismo tiempo, para los habitantes de la ciudad de Girona.
