La Conquista de Sevilla tuvo lugar entre agosto de 1247 y el 23 de noviembre de 1248 por parte de las tropas cristianas de Fernando III de Castilla. La ciudad se encontraba bajo el dominio musulmán del caíd Axataf.En el al-Ándalus del siglo XIII las dos ciudades principales eran Córdoba y Sevilla. Fernando III había tomado Córdoba en 1236 y Jaén en 1246. En ambas ciudades procedió a la expulsión de los musulmanes, cosa que también haría en Sevilla.
