La Federación de Ajedrez del Principado de Asturias es el organismo afiliado a la Federación Española de Ajedrez responsable de las competiciones oficiales de ajedrez del Principado de Asturias. Su sede se encuentra en Gijón y su presidente es el jugador y árbitro Sergio Arias Torío.Actualmente los clubes pertenecientes a esta federación son Ajedrez Valdesva, Alfil Ateneo La Calzada, Ateneo Obrero 1881, Club Ajedrez Peñamellera, Club Deportivo Oviedo 93, Club Deportivo Antonio Rico, Casino de la Felguera, Centro Social Ciudad Naranco Ajedrez, Club Ajedrez Al Paso, Club Ajedrez Candás, Club Ajedrez Siero, Club de Ajedrez Pablo Morán, Club Deportivo Escaque 19, Club Deportivo Universidad de Oviedo, Colegio San Fernando, Gijón 64, Grupo 64, Grupo de Ajedrez Mieres del Camino, Grupo de Empresa Ensidesa de Ajedrez, Peña Ajedrecista Gradense, Real Oviedo Ajedrez, Real Grupo de Cultura Covadonga, Club Ajedrez San Juan Bautista y Torre de Llanes.
