Caesaraugusta o Caesar Augusta fue el nombre de la ciudad romana de Zaragoza, fundada como colonia inmune de Roma en el año 14 a. C.,[1] posiblemente el 23 de diciembre,[2] sobre la ciudad ibérica intensamente romanizada de Salduie.[3] Su fundación tuvo lugar en el marco de la reorganización de las provincias de Hispania por César Augusto tras su victoria en las guerras astur-cántabras.
