La Torre del Homenaje es el monumento en mejor estado de conservación del Castillo Nazarí. Se encuentra en la parte más alta del Peñón de Zahara de la Sierra, a 605 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
La torre es prácticamente cuadrada (12 x 12,60 metros). Consta de dos plantas y azotea . El interior de ambas plantas se divide en cuatro compartimentos cada uno, a través de arcos rebajados que se entrecruzan para formar estos espacios, que a su vez están cubiertos por bóvedas.
Se ha descubierto un aljibe islámico bajo la Torre del Homenaje.
La torre se puede subir y ofrece una vista de Zahara, el embalse y algunos pueblos cercanos, como Algodonales y Olvera.
