El edificio señorial del Hospital del Cardenal Salazar de Córdoba ha tenido varias funciones desde su diseño. De un centro educativo para niños pobres a un hospital de agudos.
Actualmente alberga la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de Córdoba. Fue diseñado en el siglo XVIII por Francisco Hurtado Izquierdo. La imponente fachada barroca da paso a las distintas salas dispuestas en torno a dos patios de arcos , el principal de los cuales tiene una hermosa fuente de mármol .
La escalera principal conduce al primer piso. Los largos pasillos conducen a pequeñas ventanas en las que aún están grabados los nombres y fechas de los residentes del antiguo hospital. Integrada en el conjunto se encuentra la Capilla de San Bartolomé , ejemplo de arquitectura gótica mudéjar.
