Il maestoso edificio dell'Hospital del Cardenal Salazar di Cordoba ha avuto diverse funzioni sin dalla sua progettazione. Da centro educativo per bambini poveri a ospedale per acuti.
Attualmente ospita la Facoltà di Filosofia e Lettere di Cordoba. È stato progettato nel XVIII secolo da Francisco Hurtado Izquierdo. L'imponente facciata barocca lascia il posto ai vari ambienti disposti attorno a due cortili ad archi , il principale dei quali presenta una bella fontana in marmo .
La scala principale conduce al primo piano. I lunghi corridoi conducono a piccole finestre in cui sono ancora incisi i nomi e le date dei residenti dell'ex ospedale. Integrata nel complesso è la Cappella di San Bartolomé , esempio di architettura gotica mudéjar.
