Este recorrido atraviesa un total de 29 túneles, excavados en el corazón de la sierra para el trazado ferroviario que pretendía unir Jerez de la Frontera y Almargen. El más largo de todos, ubicado al final de la ruta, mide casi un kilómetro. A pesar de tan imponente trabajo, la Guerra Civil impidió finalizar el proyecto.
