De Ornans a París, el museo recorre la carrera de Courbet, sus avances estéticos, los círculos artísticos que frecuentó y su compromiso político hasta su exilio y muerte en Suiza. Con una superficie de más de 1.000 m² y 21 salas de exposiciones permanentes y temporales, el museo Courbet está instalado en tres magníficas casas adosadas. Su nueva configuración permite simultanear las exposiciones temporales con la exposición permanente.
