Encargado por Napoleón I para celebrar el triunfo de sus ejércitos en la batalla de Austerlitz, el arco más grande del mundo se erigió entre 1806 y 1836. Desde 1921, alberga la tumba del Soldado Desconocido, cuya llama del recuerdo se reaviva cada noche. La vista panorámica de la capital desde su azotea es impresionante.
