Escondido bajo tierra en el pueblo norfrancés de Landrethun-le-Nord se encontraba un arma destinada a alcanzar directamente el corazón de la capital británica. Un búnker subterráneo con una serie de túneles albergaría 25 nuevas armas experimentales, dirigidas a Londres. El V3 era un enorme superarma, diseñada para disparar proyectiles explosivos. El V3, con el nombre en clave Hochdruckpumpe, fue desarrollado por el ministro de Armamento y Producción de Guerra del Reich, Albert Speer. Bajo la colina de tiza en Francia yacía lo que Hitler había esperado que significara el fin de Londres.
