Situada en el valle de Vézère en Dordoña, entre El Bugue y la cueva de Lascaux a Montignac, la ciudad de Les Eyzies-de-Tayac merece su sobrenombre de capital mundial de la prehistoria. Introducción ideal a la visita de los sitios clasificados al patrimonio mundial de la Humanidad, el Museo Nacional de Prehistoria te invita a descubrir los rastros más antiguos dejados por el Hombre, particularmente bien valorizados gracias a su arquitectura contemporánea. A lo largo del acantilado monumental, El Museo Nacional de Prehistoria ofrece un viaje a través el tiempo, los antiguos rastros del hombre: Herramientas de piedra, objetos del arte (hueso, márfil), reconstitución de tamaño natural (escultura) del hombre prehistórico y de los animales extintos eso permite entender la evolución de las sociedades desde 400 000 años.
