Gelegen in het hart van de Vézère vallei in de Dordogne tussen Le Bugue en de grot van Lascaux in Montignac, het dorp Les Eyzies-de-Tayac wordt de prehistorie hoofdstad genoemd. Ideale kennismaking met elk bezoek vermeld als World Heritage Site, het Nationaal Museum van de Prehistorie nodigt u uit om de oudste sporen van menselijke, in het bijzonder goed ontwikkeld dankzij de hedendaagse architectuur te ontdekken. Langs de monumentale klif, deel van deze reis door de tijd, showrooms vol stenen werktuigen, kunstvoorwerpen (been, ivoor) en dermoplasties ( levensgrote reconstructies van prehistorische mensen ) en uitgestorven diersoorten, om de evolutie van de samenlevingen van afgelopen 400 000 jaar te leren.
