El castillo se menciona por primera vez en 1270. Adquirido por la ciudad de Sélestat en el siglo XV, fue vendido en el siglo XVII. Consta de una torre del homenaje circular con muralla, viviendas y una capilla.
El lugar alberga la Pajarera de las Águilas, que ofrece un espectáculo impresionante y sobrecogedor que no dejará indiferente a nadie: el vuelo libre de las mayores rapaces del mundo en las ruinas del castillo. Es una oportunidad única para acercarse a aves que nunca se verían en libertad.
