Antiguo palacio episcopal, este gran edificio del siglo XVIII, diseñado por los hermanos Brousseau, contiene verdaderos tesoros. Tras servir temporalmente como cuartel y luego como hospital, su decoración fue restaurada tras el Concordato (1802) y completada durante el siglo XIX. La capilla, por ejemplo, conservó su altar coronado por el cuadro de Suvée de San Luis venerando las reliquias de la Pasión en su marco esculpido por Babel (1772), pero en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX recibió un tabernáculo neorrománico, tapices, una alfombra de Aubusson y vidrieras.
la colección de esmaltes, única en el mundo (esmaltes de cobre champlevé de la Edad Media, esmaltes pintados del Renacimiento, así como esmaltes art-deco y contemporáneos), pinturas impresionistas y objetos del fondo de los tiempos (de la Limoges galo-romana al antiguo Egipto) se exponen gratuitamente.
