Una elegante plaza clásica (1738-52), dispuesta alrededor del Teatro de la Ópera, el más antiguo de Francia aún en funcionamiento. El Templo Protestante Renano, de estilo neorrománico, fue construido entre 1901 y 1904, durante la anexión alemana, por el arquitecto Wahn, en el emplazamiento del Jardin d'Amour. Se inspiró en la catedral de Speyer. Al anochecer, la cúpula iluminada del Temple Neuf se refleja en el Mosela y resulta especialmente romántica.
