Eleganter klassizistischer Platz (1738-52), geordnet um das Opern- und Schauspielhaus, das älteste in Betrieb befindliche Theater Frankreichs. Der protestantische Tempel im rheinischen neuromanischen Stil wurde zur Zeit der deutschen Annexion von 1901 bis 1904 von dem Architekten Wahn an der Stelle des Jardin d'Amour errichtet. Er wurde vom Dom zu Speyer inspiriert. Am Abend spiegelt sich der beleuchtete Kopf des Temple Neuf in der Mosel und wirkt besonders romantisch.
