La abadía de Saint Maurin fue construida a finales del siglo XI, tras su afiliación a la abadía de Moissac y a la orden benedictina. Este gran complejo monástico se extendió hasta incluir numerosas iglesias y prioratos en los alrededores, todo lo cual demostró su influencia e importancia en un radio de 20 kilómetros.
Arruinado y restaurado varias veces durante la Guerra de los Cien Años y las Guerras de Religión, no fue hasta la Revolución cuando los edificios se vendieron en lotes. Hoy en día, aún se puede admirar el coro de la antigua iglesia abacial, así como dos capillas, el claustro, los edificios conventuales, el castillo abacial y sus jardines.
