El edificio sólo se puede ver desde el exterior: un edificio de dos plantas sobre un sótano abovedado, hecho de arenisca rosa. Admirable portal barroco de arenisca amarilla, decorado con la estatua de San Francisco (1769). Posibilidad de incluirlo en una visita guiada a la ciudad. Tras la disolución del Capítulo de San Esteban en 1743, el duque de Lorena Stanislas autorizó el establecimiento de monjes franciscanos recoletos en Hombourg en 1749. Estos monjes construyeron un nuevo convento junto a la colegiata y vivieron allí hasta la Revolución. Tras la marcha de los recoletos, el edificio se utilizó como presbiterio hasta 1997.
