Le bâtiment est visible uniquement de l'extérieur : bâtiment à 2 étages sur cave voutée, en pierre de grès rose. Admirable portail baroque en grès jaune, orné de la statue de Saint-François (1769). Possibilité de l'inclure dans une visite de ville commentée. Après la dissolution du chapitre Saint-Étienne en 1743, le duc de Lorraine Stanislas autorisa en 1749 l'implantation à Hombourg de moines récollets franciscains. Ces religieux bâtirent un nouveau couvent à côté de l'église collégiale et y résidèrent jusqu'à la Révolution. Après le départ des récollets, le bâtiment servit de presbytère jusqu'en 1997.
