En 1866 se construyó en Baerenthal la capilla de Notre Dame de Confiance para la pequeña minoría católica del pueblo y se dedicó a la Inmaculada Concepción. Está dedicada a la Inmaculada Concepción, es de estilo neogótico y alberga una estatua de la Virgen con el Niño. Sobrevivió a las tres guerras franco-alemanas sin demasiados daños y permaneció discreta hasta el 18 de mayo de 1960, cuando comenzó la peregrinación de "Notre Dame de confiance"
La capilla de Nuestra Señora de la Confianza se encuentra en el pequeño sendero del patrimonio (3,7 km) en el pueblo de Baerenthal, "Au grès du chemin... notre histoire".
