La línea Maginot acuática es la particularidad de nuestro territorio en términos de torres militares. Los estanques de Hoste situados más arriba en esta línea tenían la particularidad de ser utilizados tanto como embalses como obstáculos. El estanque de Hoste-Bas sigue siendo hoy en día el único equipado con su sistema de sifón. La proximidad del blocao de defensa del dique y un vestigio del antiguo cementerio militar de la Segunda Guerra Mundial hacen de Hoste un lugar único e imperdible.
