El 13 de junio de 1944, los maquisards dirigidos por René Vielle interceptan un gran convoy alemán a las puertas de Grenade sur l'Adour. En represalia, la población reunida en la plaza fue testigo del incendio de sus principales edificios y de la detención de cincuenta rehenes, muchos de los cuales fueron deportados
En 1999 se inauguró el museo municipal, que reúne los numerosos testimonios de este oscuro periodo.
En 2022, el museo aumentó su colección, que se acompaña de paneles explicativos, mezclando documentos administrativos, cartas de deportados y testimonios...
Un momento de emoción y recuerdo para los héroes de este oscuro periodo de la historia nacional.
Abierto todo el año, sólo con visita guiada y con cita previa.
